Smack dab in the middle of it all, Grumpy Bear is mere minutes from all of your favorite activities! Enjoy the adrenaline thrills of whitewater rafting with the NOC or cruising the Tail of the Dragon on your bike? How about a leisurely day spent hiking in the Smoky Mountain National Park or fishing the Tuckaseegee right from your campsite? More of an indoor type? Visit Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee or peruse the many unique shops in Gatlinburg. No matter your pace we got you covered.

NOW OPEN GRUMPY BEAR GEM MINING

Come play in the dirt and find gemstones, fossils, ruby, sapphires, arrow heads and other semi-precious stones located right here in the campground. You never know what you might find.

We also boast the best restrooms in the camping business! Private room with toilet, shower & sink.

NEW THIS YEAR. Would you like to glamp or see what camping in a RV is like? We have a beautiful 5th wheel RV for rent. It sleeps up to 4 people and has all amenities just bring yourself.

RV is $120.00 per night plus 1 time cleaning fee of $40.00

Our sites will fit any size RV you have, so bring ‘em on! All sites come with 20, 30 and 50 amp electrical hookups, water, and sewer.

-Riverfront sites are $70.00 per night

- Off-river are $65.00 taxes included.

We also have cabins

BEDDING IS PROVIDED FOR ALL CABINS. YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS.

-Riverfront camping cabin $140.00 per night. CABIN HAS NO BATHROOM. This cabin has 1-queen bed, bunk bed, sleeper sofa, microwave, coffee pot, small refrigerator, tv, air conditioning, heat, picnic table, grill and fire pit.

We charge a one-time cleaning fee of $40.00, and a pet fee of $40.00 per pet.

All pets MUST be kenneled when left in the cabin without supervision.

PLEASE NO SMOKING IN THE CABINS OR PORCH OF CABINS.

-Off River cabin WITH 1/2 BATH $140.00 per night. This cabin has 1-queen bed, sleeper sofa, microwave, coffee pot, small refrigerator, tv, air conditioning, heat, picnic table, grill and fire ring.

We charge a one-time cleaning fee of $40.00, and a pet fee of $40.00 per pet.

All pets MUST be kenneled when left in the cabin without supervision.

PLEASE NO SMOKING IN THE CABINS OR PORCH OF CABINS.

-River cabin with full bath and kitchenet! The cabin can sleep six and is available for $170.00 per night.

We charge a one time cleaning fee of $40.00 and a pet fee of $40.00 per pet. Book now!

-Last but not least, we have hand-crafted tipis for $70.00 per night.

-Our tipis can sleep six and come with electric and water hookups, camping grills and picnic tables. We also offer portable air conditioner or heater at no charge

DIRECTIONS

The easiest way to the campground is to take HWY 74 West to exit 74. Merge onto US HWY 441 and follow to the intersection with HWY 19. Turn left on HWY 19 and follow it for 3 miles to the Railroad tracks. Make the immediate right just 10 feet past the tracks onto Old River Road. You’re there!

RESERVATIONS & CANCELLATIONS

Half down is required to hold a reservation. NO EXCEPTIONS. ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE DONE BY E-MAIL NO EXCEPTIONS grumpybearcampground@gmail.com

- All reservations are subject to a $10.00 cancellation fee. Please see our cancellation policy below.

-RV reservation must be cancelled 15 days prior to arrival date. Any cancellations after 15 days will be charged the full amount.

- Cabins reservations must be cancelled 30 days prior to arrival date. Any cancellation after the 30 days will be be charged the full amount.

PETS

All Pets must be on a leash at all times. No aggressive dogs will be allowed. You MUST clean up after your pets. All pets must be kennelled when left in our cabins or tipis unsupervised.

CHECK IN / CHECK OUT

Check in will be any time after 1:00 pm, unless prior arrangements have been made.

Check out will be at 11:00 am. If you require a late check out please call for arrangements, 828-788-2095. We will try to accommodate any request.
